Makor – Jewish Education for Grades 6-7

Temple Emeth has adopted the Makor (Hebrew for "source") initiative – an innovative, exciting, and flexible program designed by Hebrew College – to address the needs of religious school students in Grades 6-7. Hebrew College developed Makor as an extension of its highly successful curriculum at its Prozdor High School. In photo is Josh Langer (center), past Director of Makor, with Temple Emeth students.

Location, Schedule, Learning Experiences
Students attend Hebrew College on Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons, taking Hebrew language and choosing from a variety of electives. Makor students also study with the clergy of Temple Emeth.
Students also take part in experiential learning activities – Shabbat programming and day trips or overnight excursions to places of Jewish significance – to reinforce a connection to their Jewish heritage and deepen relationships with peers and teachers.
