Description:

Join Cantor Michael McCloskey and Dr. Ray Feller at our 9th Annual Cantor-Plex Film Series. Our theme this year is "Creation on Film," beginning with the showing of Gattaca.

Gattaca is one of most exciting movies of the last twenty years, in terms of ideas and philosophical meaning, especially the ethical issues raised by this film. Produced by Andrew Niccol, Gattaca raises the question of eugenics and beyond this issue, the role of technique in modern society. Characters in Gattaca continually battle both with society and with themselves to find their place in the world and who they are destined to be according to their genes. The film's title is based on the letters G, A, T, and C, which stand for guanine, adenine, thymine, and cytosine, the four nucleobases of DNA.

As always, popcorn, soda and movie candy will be available, as well as craft beer (for those of age).
